Moving On…

It’s been fun here in Southern California. My wife and I spent a lot of time enjoying the weather: sailing, going to street fairs, riding around San Diego with the top down. We will miss the perfect weather and lifestyle, but it is time to go back to Colorado. There are many reasons, chief among those reasons are family. My brother and sister-in-law have a few children now and my wife regrets the time she misses with them. Also, since my mother and father-in-law have been living with us for the past couple years, it will be nice to let them get back to Colorado. My wife’s father had a stroke a couple years back so we brought them to live with us. He is doing much better now and doesn’t need my wife’s full-time care. I must admit, while I am going to miss SoCal and my family, it will be nice to spend some time with my wife’s family. They have been great and it’s been a long time since we spent any real time hanging out with them. Maybe I’ll get a chance to go hunting this time around..

I purchased an Acer C710 Chromebook the other day. I must say, I am quite happy with the purchase. The computer is light, small, and fast. For things like browsing the web, editing files stored in my Dropbox or Skydrive, listening to Google Music or Pandora it is perfect. I have the feeling that I will soon be fairly dependant on this little computer! Yesterday I watched a movie on Netflix and, after plugging in a USB drive I discovered that the Chrome OS comes with a built-in movie player. The only thing that I am still looking for is a small sleeve which fits the Chromebook and doesn't look like a woman's handbag. Oh, well. I'm sure it won't take me long to find a carrying case. After doing a little research online, it appears that, if you feel the 2GB of ram is insuffecient that the hardware is expandable to 16GB (2 slots). The computer also features a SDCard slot for memory expansion. I haven't yet found the need to have additional storage, however. Especi
